Your Trials Have A Purpose

Updated: Oct 2, 2020

Have you ever gone through difficult times and it seems as if there is no respite? I have been there and it does not feel good at all. It is like everyone and everything is working against you.

Sometimes the questions are too many and there are no answers. Well, I want to tell you today that it is not in vain and whenever we are in those seasons, the best thing is to wait on God to come through, He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10. With every trial that we go through, God is there in our midst. He never leaves us nor forsakes us.

With every trial that we go through, God is there in our midst.

Some years ago I found myself suddenly in a position of leadership. I had to lead a group of people that were not receptive because it was not their way. It was a new experience having to work with different people and mannerisms. Had I known what I know now, I would have done things differently. It was difficult and there were times I would ask God when will things get better where everyone was satisfied. The thing with life is that we can never satisfy everyone.

During that time, I just wanted things to go fast so that I did not have to deal with the negativity in the group. Through it all, I believe it made me become strong and realize that it is not about me or even the ones I am ministering to or working with, but it is all about God.

Nothing in this life is permanent. As my husband likes to say, ‘everything that has a beginning has an end.’ That was one of the seasons I have gone through difficult things and the fruits of that season are something we now experience in our lives as a family and at our ministry God’s Cherished Ones.

God uses seasons to mould and make us into the people He has purposed us to be.

If it were not for God’s strength to persevere during trying times, it would be too hard to live and we would give up. I would have lost heart unless I had believed. That I would see the goodness of the Lord. In the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord! Psalm 27:13-14.

Do not resist that trying season but embrace it with patience, positivity, faith and thanksgiving. Ask God to give you wisdom and understanding regarding your season and He will direct you. The devil’s main goal during difficult times is for a believer to fail in their faith in God. Do not give the devil that liberty, but hold on change is on its way with victory and glory wrapped around it. I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. Romans 8:18
