Your Identity Is In Christ Jesus

Your identity is not found in what people call or think about you. It is not what the internet tells you or what you think of yourself.

Your identity is found in Jesus Christ. He is the one that knows the real you remember you are God’s creation.

In the gospel of Mark 5, we are told about a woman who bled for 12 years. She was known and still know as the ‘woman with the issue of blood’.When she encountered Jesus Christ, He did not call her by why she was suffering from, but by who she was to Him. He called her DAUGHTER, Mark 5:34," He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

In the same scripture, Mark 5:39,” He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” This was a girl that people called dead even the parents believed it to be true. Jesus tells them she was sleeping and they laughed because in the physical realm that is what it looked to them as if she was dead. Jesus then tells them she is not dead but asleep.

Many are the times we look at things from our human sight and understanding but we miss greatly. What you see is not what it looks like. There is more to this life than we can fathom. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Let us try not to judge a book by its cover. Try and learn the book and understand why it looks that way, you will be surprised by what you find.

Today you may be reading this and you have been called names and branded in a way that is not you but your circumstance, do not be discouraged, there is One who knows you beyond your suffering and He loves you dearly. His name is Jesus Christ and He came for the lost, the battered, the discouraged, the rejected, the forgotten. He did all this all because of His great love towards His own creation.

If you do not know Him and would like to, just confess your sins to Him, ask Him to come into your life and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved,Romans 10:9-10, “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes and is justified, and with the mouth, one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” Romans 10:13, “For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Have a blessed last week of June.-MM
