Many are the times we go by with our lives and forget to be thankful for what God has done so far in our lives. Scripture tells us to give thanks. (1 Thessalonians 5:18), Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. This song is just a reminder to give thanks to God.
Count all your blessings name them one by one. It helps to remember that the same God who came through for you will do it again in your life. All you need is to trust in His able hands to change your circumstances.
Gratitude is a weapon to overcoming discouragement and despair in life.
Take time and thank God for what He has already done, and you will realize that what you are going through right now is just a passing thing. Nothing in this world lasts forever apart from the WORD of God. My mum always tells me to give thanks even when you do not feel like it.
The thing is, we do not give thanks to God because we feel like it, we give thanks to Him because;
It is His will for all who belong to Christ Jesus, (1 Thessalonians 5:18) He alone deserves it (Colossians 1:12; Psalm 7:17) He is God and Lord over everything. (Psalm 95:1-3) For what He has done for us (Psalm 52:9) If it was not for His saving grace, we would still be dead in sin. (1 Corinthians 6:20; Romans 6:13) . So even that situation that seems to take forever, God remains to be God and He is above it and able to change it for you. (Philippians 4:6; Romans 5:3-5)
