God is Love and He is a righteous judge.Sin is sin and without repentance ,then there is judgement.Let us not take the grace of God to be a license to sin because it is not.The grace of God empowers us to live godly lives ,Titus 2:11-12.
We all sin and there is need for sanctification which will happen if we confess our sins. 1 John 1:8-10 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us."
Yes God is love and because of His great love towards us,He sent His Son Jesus Christ so we can be forgiven and reconciled to Him, John 3:16.
His love is so great that He chastens those He loves because He does not want anyone to perish,but we cannot take His goodness for granted and live in sin . “For whom the Lord loves He chastens,And scourges every son whom He receives.”If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it,”Hebrews 12:6-11. He is a Judge and we must remember that there is a day of judgement coming for anyone who still remains in sin.He is a holy God and His desire is that we choose holiness because it is a choice each human being has to make. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord,” Romans 6:23.This is not just death of the body but also your soul and spirit.
