Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore, get wisdom, and in all your getting, get understanding, Proverbs 4:7.
Praying without understanding is unwise. We need to ask and search out the heart of the matter to be effective in our prayers. Prayer without understanding is like driving to an unknown place without direction; you will go in cycles and eventually get tired and give up until you get direction.
Prayer is not a routine; it must be intentional and purposeful. As intercessors, we have to go by the command of God, and that is knowing what is in His heart regarding a situation and then pray according to His will. Our spirit man and our hearts have to be one with God always, lest we 'pray amiss' (James 4:3).
Pray with me Father, give me insight into Your will and help me to know how to pray accordingly. May I not do anything in my understanding but instead seek You in all my ways so that You can lead me in the right way, Proverbs 3:5-6.
