Thoughts on Matthew 11:28
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
When I read the four Gospels in the New Testament, I am amazed at the works Christ did. Everywhere He went He did good deeds. The Prophet Isaiah calls Him ‘COUNSELLOR’ and that is just what the above scripture is talking about.
The sick, poor, young and old, even the ones with the dead came to Him. You have got to realize that whenever the presence of God is there is a manifestation of His wonder working power. People were drawn to Him during His ministry here on earth and even today those who are hungry and thirsty for Him still draw nearer to Him.
He gives an invitation for rest to anyone in need of laying down their heavy load. He gives the assurance of rest in Him and only in Him can it be found. The Almighty God is always there for His creation and He is so merciful that He gives a chance and a hope to those willing to take it with willing and broken hearts.
Do not wallow in sorrow anymore, there is hope. Let not your heart be faint because of what you are going through because there is a God who is waiting for you to come to Him and He will give you rest. Whatever it is that seems too much to handle or to carry, the Lord Jesus Christ knows about it and is waiting for you to let go and let Him give you rest for your soul.
My Prayer for You:
Is that You will receive the strength and grace to soldier on in your current season of difficulty. I speak peace over you. May the God of hope give you rest as you lay down your heavy load in exchange for his burden that is light to carry. May your faith increase and may you not lose sight of the promises He has for you in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.
