A Darling of the King of Kings: A 5-Day Devotional Bible Study: Day 1: Identity in Christ

You are valuable, loved, and purposed by Him.
Your worth is rooted in bearing God's image, not social norms.

Key Verse: "So God created mankind in His own image; in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them." Genesis 1:27 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:

Social norms do not define our worth as women, but rather the fact that we bear God's image. This truth means you are valuable, loved, and equipped for a divine purpose. Jesus reiterated this to the Samaritan woman, demonstrating that God, not her circumstances, was the source of her worth (John 4:7–42). You can find your worth, identity, and image in God.

Reflection Questions:

  • How does the realisation that you bear God's image alter your self-perception?

  • Do you need to surrender any lies about your worth to God?

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for creating me in Your image. Help me to embrace my identity in Christ and walk in the confidence of being Your daughter.

Challenge for the Day:

Meditate on Ephesians 2:10 and journal three ways God has uniquely crafted you as His masterpiece.
